While many of us probably had mood rings as children and believed the different colors were representative of our mood, it turns out that's not quite how they work. The changing color results from a change in internal temperature (the human body getting warmer or colder) and external temperature (taking a warm bath or walking outside in the winter, for instance). Even though mood rings react directly to temperature changes, a person's mood can often be correlated with their temperature. So, there is actually a loose connection between the colors and your mood!
